NEW! Ohio General Assembly
Reforms
Renewable & Advanced Energy Tax Policy
Ohio Advanced Energy members are helping to grow the solar industry through
large scale development. One such utility-scale solar field is already
under construction at the 180th Ohio Air National Guard Base in Toledo,
Ohio. OAE is proud this project includes 93% Ohio content!
When finished, the project will be over 1 megawatt, covering 7 acres with
panels.
Ohio law requires over 800 megawatts of solar to be installed by 2025.
This could mean a 10 megawatt field in every Ohio county, employing thousands
of Ohioans to produce the needed parts and conduct the installations.
The state could use stimulus funding to build the first such project, and OAE
members could utilize the tax credits, renewable energy credits, and sale of
the power to finance the next projects. We are working with leaders and state
government to make this vision a reality. Please contact your elected leaders
with this message!
Ohio Advanced Energy (OAE) is the premier business trade association promoting
the interest of the advanced and renewable technology industries in Ohio.
Formed in 2007, OAE worked extensively to help shape Ohio’s landmark Advanced
Energy Portfolio Standard (AEPS) legislation. Under Ohio’s AEPS, at lease
twenty-five percent of Ohio’s electricity must be generated from clean and
renewable resources by 2025.
As Ohio begins to implement the AEPS platform, OAE continues to be actively
involved in promoting the interests of Ohio’s advanced energy business
community in the national marketplace and at the state’s agencies that will
oversee funding and implementation of the new legislation. OAE is also working
with other interested stakeholders to ensure that the implementation of the
AEPS is a successful collaborative endeavor that creates new opportunities in
Ohio that will benefit the State’s economy and environment.
